The leading US training event in trans health goes virtual in February 2027

The training programme Advancing Excellence in Transgender Health, organised by the LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center at Fenway Health (Boston, United States), will be held entirely online from 5 to 7 February 2027. The organisation has already confirmed the dates and announced that registration will open soon; the detailed programme and fees have not yet been published.

Training for the whole health care team

According to the conference’s official website, the course was created in response to the high volume of queries from clinicians and health care staff seeking to learn how to provide high-quality care for adults, adolescents and children who are questioning their gender identity or who identify as transgender or gender-diverse. The programme is designed to train the entire team —physicians, behavioural health providers, nurses and other staff— in evidence-based, gender-affirmative care and best clinical practice.

What the format includes

Sessions are led by faculty specialised in research and clinical care for trans people. Beyond the lectures, the format includes lived-experience panels and interactive discussions on medical and behavioural health approaches to gender-affirmative care. As a reference, the organisation keeps recordings of the 2021 and 2022 editions publicly available.

Why it matters

It is one of the best-known continuing education events in trans health and, being held online, it is accessible without travel for professionals from any country. Knowing the dates in advance makes it possible to plan the calendar and be ready to register as soon as it opens.
